A group of top former Security executives are starting a project. It is Ventum Group, a new multifamily office.
The directors of the new firm are Carlos Budge, who served for more than 17 years as managing director of Investments & Asset management at the Security Group, and Jorge Marín, partner at C-Group Executive Search Consulting and former head of life financial services at the Zurich insurance company.
Another partner will be Felipe Marín, who after 10 years at Security resigned from his position as investment director in April 2020. In addition, Gustavo Schmincke, who recently resigned as investment manager at Security's AGF, and José Miguel Quiroga, who served as deputy investment manager, have just joined.
A knowledgeable source points out that it is a boutique multifamily office, designed for high-net-worth clients. “It is made up of an investment team that has been working together for a long time and knows each other quite well. The idea is to provide a much more comprehensive service than just financial advice, because high-net-worth families have a much more complex context than just portfolio management: the family structure, with the preservation of resources, the generational transfer between various aspects,” the source highlights.
He also anticipates that “there are a couple more names on the way” and that Ventum Group is already operational. “They have already done roadshows and reviewed clients and businesses since the end of last year, but formally they have been in the game since January and with the arrival of the new partners, they are strengthening and accelerating,” says the source.
After Schmincke's departure, the new investment manager of AGF de Security is Jorge Meyer, who served as general manager of the securitization company.
